The 2018 R1M is the track-focused, higher-spec version of Yamaha's crossplane-crank 998 cc superbike, with Ohlins electronic suspension adjustable through a smartphone app and a GPS-equipped data unit. Compared with the previous year the changes were modest: a clearer suspension interface, revised wheelie control and a quickshifter with an auto-blipper for downshifts.
